Requiescat In Pace

One day you’re here
And the next you’re gone—
This life can bring
The boldest to their knees—
Sometimes we can’t express
Our words of love
Until that final parting
Rest in peace.

We never knew the things
That lay ahead—
We hoped that some luck
Would see us through—
You were a rebel
Till the very end,
And that is how
I’ll think of you.

The soul’s ascension
Cycles through each state
Of many incarnations
Till it’s free
Of early passions,
Fears, pain and hate
That to this day
Enslave humanity.

We learn the only
Lesson that is love—
That God’s in everything
That lives within us all—
It’s when this earthly
Anguish feels too much—
The light of love’s
Awakened in our souls.
