Kentucky Girl

for Christy

Yes, you are, yes, you are, my love,
You're my lovely Kentucky girl.

In your bourbon smile I can see
Grassy hills just as free as you--
Come, my darling, won't you sit with me--
We'll have a beer or two.

In that hair that shines like the sun,
Freckled skin and untamed, sparkling eyes
I can see the Kentucky sky
And the valleys where the horses run wild.

I remember when I was a child
And the wind would embrace my face,
I'd smile like you smile tonight,
Thinking this is the time and place.

As I stand here at a local saloon,
The same child is awake in me--
Struck by love in the Kentucky moon--
Thinking this is where I'd like to be.

And the moon seems to sign your name
In your eyes that sparkle like pearls--
Yes, you are, yes, you are, my love,
You're my lovely Kentucky girl.

Mit Dir hab' ich dieses Gefühl,
dass wir heut' Nacht unsterblich sind.
Egal, was uns jetzt noch geschieht,
ich weiss, dass wir unsterblich sind.

Unsterblich

(Being with you, I get this feeling
That tonight we are immortal.
Regardless of what we've been through,
I know that we are immortal.)

Piss on the wrong people and they send you to jail
Piss on the right people and they say you're an artist
I said, "How come you never tell me you love me?"
He said, "I don’t. And that’s enough with the questions."

And it feels so good to be misunderstood.

Impossibility

As the earth swung
this golden hum
seemed to wash over me
as the bells ringed
I heard you sing
and it called me out
to sea

You said how did you know
that fine living makes you slow
how did you know I was the one
and how could you see
impossibility
as far as you know
I am your sun

See I woke up frail and perfect
see I woke up tired and warm
as the old man stands to judge us all
I believe I am reborn

You said how could we know
fine living makes you slow
how could I know you were the one
I said how could you see
impossibility
as far as I know I am your sun

I swore
forever more
I would stand up
bright and clear
as we rise above our
doubts and fears
singing out so all may hear

Call Of The Wild

It's dry, it's dusty, the nights are long and cold
Your life is like a desert, you're scared of growing old

You can hear the clock ticking like a hammer on a stone
Remember this - you're not alone, you're not alone,
YOU'RE NOT ALONE...

Come on! Can you hear it?
The call of the wild
Stand up now and fight back
Wipe off their plastic smiles

You crawled out of the ocean, your pulse was slow and weak
Got up on your two legs, put on clothes and learned to speak
Ended up abandoned in a place that they call home
Remember this - you're not alone, you're not alone,
YOU'RE NOT ALONE...

Come on! Can you hear it?
The call of the wild
Stand up now and fight back
Wipe off their plastic smiles
Why listen to the losers who still treat you like a child?
Better find another station
Tune in to the call of the wild
The call of the wild
Call of the wild
Call of the wild

They'll tell you that they love you, like a spider loves a fly
Promise you you're safe but never look you in the eye
Manipulated, regulated, crippled and controlled
Remember this - you're not alone, you're not alone,
YOU'RE NOT ALONE...

Come on! Can you hear it?
The call of the wild
Stand up and fight back
and kill their plastic smiles
Why listen to the losers who still treat you like a child?
Tune in to the call of the wild.
Call of the wild
