I'm sad but not about...

  Princess Di,
This too will pass like transient migraines,
I'm sad because I cannot feel the pain,
Nor have the tears anymore to cry.
This world is but a tasteless drug that numbs,
And we accept what's given day by day
Until there's nothing left for us to say
  Except some sickly lovey-dovey hum...
I love you, darling, in this dreadful place
That someone chose with the news to fill
Of some important Jack and slutty Jill
Whose lives just ended in a senseless waste...
  I'm sad because I know I can't change
This world in such a way that I could be
Myself, no matter how odd or strange,
Where you could love me just for being me.
