He Held Her Close
He held her close until she cried
And then he somehow knew
That something died in her that night
And she'd start anew.
He stroked her hair, kissing her lips,
Holding her close all night,
Touching her breasts, her thighs and hips,
He saw her eyes alight.
She woke up to a brand new life
After a cleansing rain--
She knew that night she'd be his wife
No more to hide her pain.
