My Wild Darling

My wild darling blew my mind,
Dazzled me till I was blind,
Rearranged my heart and brain
Like a sudden hurricane.

I've lost my sanity,
Charmed by her sweet sorcery--
In my mind she'd spin and dance,
Sending me into a trance.

In my dreams she'd come to me
Like a horse that's wild and free,
Galloping inside my heart
Like some priceless work of art.

I'd wake, get out of bed,
And she'd linger in my head,
Charting out my roadmap,
Luring me into a trap.

Then one morning I awoke
In my room in flames and smoke--
There she was in front of me,
Smiling, dangerous and free.

Then she said: "Oh what a mess!
Hurry up, my love, get dressed!"
And we rode in her car
To some funky Dixie bar.

As we drank, she'd laugh and smoke,
Telling me her offbeat jokes,
And we kissed and smiled each time
Like two partners in a crime.
